ABOUT ME

Hello my name is James Statom the administrator of this web site. This web site is an idea I had brought together to help keep the communication of my family line, Guillebeau, Guillebeaux and Statom, Statum and Cook. Although it took me an extremely longtime to finally get to know most of my family, the ones who I have recently met I admire. They are extremely beautiful people with golden personalities and charming ways.

This is the reason why I want to keep the communication alive. It actually does not make sense to me to go to a family reunion and meet all of the new family members you've never seen before. Then, go back home and never talk to them until possibly a year or two later. This is crazy but it happens!

One of the things I found out is that my family tree is extremely large and it requires a large medium for communication. This is why I thought of the Internet and building a web site that would produce the required results.

When I was growing up I would wonder much about who I was. I found myself asking question about my family history but getting no real answers. Finally, I began to think that maybe I was just hatched and maybe this was the reason why my mother and father couldn't give me the information I wanted or needed. Still, I would never give up the quest to find out just who I was and something about my family history.

One of the biggest thing I found as a stumbling block was the sir name Statom. Checking back on my father's side James L. Statom, Sr., who father was Sylvester Statom. Now I could never understand how his last name became "Statom" when his sibling's last name was spelled "Statum". Looks like it was just one of those things where someone would spell your name wrong and not knowing any better you just run with it.
